CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR SET VIDEO SHOWS AN EXPLOSIVE TRUCK STUNT

Joe and Anthony Russo’s Captain America: Civil War is currently filming in Atlanta, Georgia, and things are getting intense on the set. In the midst of superheroes battling each other, and the titular character taking down various unpatriotic foes, there is going to be major vehicular damage as well! Check out this footage of a truck meeting an explosive obstacle.
As you can see in this set video, Marvel is taking some inspiration from DC by flipping this truck over like Batman did to The Joker’s truck in The Dark Knight. The truck looks like your average trash transportation vehicle, but as seen in other set pictures (found via ComicBookMovie.com), its destination is the Institute for Infectious Diseases, which we learned about yesterday. New Poster & 2 New Tv Spot’s For Ant-Man Released.
Jon Bernthal cast as FRANK CASTLE/THE PUNISHER in SEASON TWO of MARVEL’S DAREDEVIL
Well, if this isn’t perfect casting, I don’t know what is. Marvel Studios has officially annouced that Jon Bernthal will join Season 2 of Marvel’s Daredevil as Frank Castle/The Punisher. This will be the first time that Punisher will be a part of Marvel Studios Cinematic Universe since they retrieved the rights back from Fox. Frank Castle/The Punisher had three movies made about him, played by actors Dolph Lundgren, Thomas Jane, and Ray Stevenson. Now, Punisher will join the MCU, most likely either as the anti-hero to Daredevil or as the villain for Daredevil to take down. The big difference between Punisher and Daredevil is that Punisher has no problem with getting dirty and doing what’s necessary to take down his opponents.

Even though HULK #7’s cover implies an intense encounter between Hulk and Skaar in the Savage Land, I’d say the book’s best moment comes from the very first scene. Now, I won’t spoil who it involves, but it’s essentially Hulk lecturing someone on the dangers of gamma radiation. It’s pretty much a ridiculous twist on a drug PSA and it’s a surprisingly funny way to open the chapter and show us we’re dealing with a new take on the Green Goliath.
While I wasn’t the biggest fan around of the encounter with Skaar, I will say what follows does an adequate enough job teasing a new element while also building interest in who Hulk will go after next. Hopefully it’ll be a more engaging conflict and resolution, though. In all I would rate this issue a a 7/10 that’s all for this issue and as always keep on marveling.

Marvel Looking at Jason Statham for a Killer Role in Daredevil Season 2??

Daredevil was a huge success for Marvel and Netflix. It was a success in the eyes of fans and critics alike. A second season being ordered was a no-brainer.
After the wonderful and nuanced performance by Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson “Kingpin” Fisk, where does the series go? he obvious answer is the villain fans were asking for once the first season ended – Bullseye! But what actor could possibly portray the master assassin?
Latino Review has it on good authority that Jason Statham will play the killer with the killer aim in season two of Daredevil. They couldn’t get official confirmation, but they report that Statham was seen talking to reps from Marvel earlier this week during breaks from his press tour for Spy.
This would be Statham’s second go-round with the property, as he was rumored to be involved with FOX’s movie reboot prior…

The same creative team bringing SPIDER-MAN 2099 out every month now tackles the much larger, yet somehow smaller, Battleworld sector that seems stuck in the future. Right off the bat Peter David does a fantastic job of establishing that, while this is the ultra-neon world of 2099 ripped straight from comics of the 90s, there’s been plenty of progress made in terms of characters and storytelling. David introduces the team rapid-fire, giving at least a decent idea of who everyone is and what their role is, as well as showcasing their unique personalities and powers, but Hercules and Captain America get most of the focus of this issue with Black Widow clocking in at a close second, and right off the bat, David masterfully sets up conflicts both internally and externally involving all of them. This is a far, far more character driven book than might have been expected, and that’s a very good thing as it’s easily one of Peter David’s strongest suits.
Will Sliney provides the linework, making Nueva York look as sleek and shiny as ever with some very subtle, very thin actual lines. But making the character outlines thin helps reinforce the notion that everything in this land is slick and fluid, a city that never stands still for a second and a future that never closes its eyes. The colors, from the duo of Antonio Fabela and Andres Mossa help with that feeling immensely, making everything neon and bright, while not overwhelming the sense too much or ever having it be too chaotic and discordant. In all I would rate this issue a 7/10 that’s all for this issue and as always keep on marveling.

Jonathan Hickman seems to be very calculating in terms of how much information he reveals about the nature and origin of Battleworld and when he reveals new information. Where issue #1 explored the final hours of the Marvel and Ultimate Universes and issue #2 offered a sweeping view of Battleworld and its various domains and barons, issue #3 takes a more inward focus. Here Hickman finally reacquaints readers with the surviving refugees of the old universes and offers a closer glimpse at God King Doom himself.
Now that he’s more than just a silent monolith sitting on the Wooden Throne of Yggdrasil, Doom immediately becomes the most compelling figure in the book. Hickman has always written a great Doom, dating back to one of his very first Marvel stories, the 2009 tale “…And I’ll Get the Land” from Dark Reign: The Cabal. Hickman just gets Doom – his bravado, his boundless ambition and ego, and the tragic man that lurks beneath that suit armor. All of these qualities are drawn into focus in this issue. Doom’s interactions with his sheriff, Doctor Strange, and his consort, Susan Storm, shed a great deal of light on what motivates the lord of Battleworld and how godhood has changed him.
This issue does no less than suggest that Doom may be the real protagonist of Secret Wars. He’s certainly not the villain of the story. He succeeded where the Avengers failed and built an entire world that keeps the fires of existence burning. He shows a genuine love for his subjects, even if he considers himself far above them. But most of all, he remains deeply flawed and troubled despite his seemingly unlimited power. While firm in his belief that God Doom is right and good, he remains haunted by the frailty and weakness of Victor von Doom. Hickman manages to portray the character simultaneously and his most grandiose and his most human. In all I would rate this issue an 8/10 that’s all for this issue and as always keep on marveling.
