I think a slow clap is in order for Mark Waid, Paolo Rivera and the rest of the team working on this volume of Daredevil. Daredevil has long been a series that is shrouded in darkness, constantly putting Matt Murdock through the wringer. But now Daredevil is fun again. Under the guidance of Mark Waid and company, Daredevil has some light back in his life and damn if it doesn’t make for good reading. Let this be a lesson to aspiring writers: not everything has to be doom and gloom to be engaging and enjoyable.

Daredevil #3 picks up with Matt stuck in that crazy sound contraption that he found himself in the last issue. The beginning of this book is a perfect showcase of Paolo Rivera’s attention to detail when handling the art of this series. The first page alone is filled with a number of panels featuring intricate wires wrapped around Matt. It’s miracle that Rivera’s detail isn’t lost in the shuffle of so many panels stacked on top of each other. But to Rivera’s credit, he handles the entire sequence flawlessly.

Daredevil #3 is actually the end of the first story arc for this new series, which Waid ends on an interesting and damn funny note that should have readers excited for next month’s issue to see where this all goes. As an added note, a tip of the hat is in order to Mark Waid for making a goofy villain such as Klaw interesting and menacing as a Daredevil foe. He was dealt with pretty quickly here, so let’s hope he shows up again down the road, you know, just so Paolo Rivera has a chance to draw him again. If you’ve been enjoying this series thus far, Daredevil #3 will not derail the train. And if you haven’t yet dabbled into Waid and Rivera’s Daredevil, for shame, as it’s arguably the best book Marvel is currently putting out. In all I would rate this issue a 7.5/10 that’s all for this issue and as always keep on marveling.

Daredevil #2

daredevil #2

Written by: Mark Waid

Released: April 23, 2014

Chris Samnee handles the linework, and shares “storyteller” credit with Waid, and the visuals in this book continue to be some of the best in all of comics. From the character design and amazing definition to the incredible sense of motion and fluidity that never once falters, the art is at once amazingly complex and incredibly simple, and that’s partially due to Javier Rodriguez’scolors. The colors are dark, but never dreary and set the mood perfectly. This book also does a great job of downplaying dialog during action scenes (though there is SOME internal) and also knowing when to have none at all. Near the end of the issue, Kirsten makes a startling revelation and the entire scene is completely silent, ratcheting up the drama to another level entirely.

It looks like, despite renumbering and a completely different location, we’re still getting the same high-quality Daredevil we’ve come to expect from this creative team. The change to San Francisco has not only given the setting a different flavor, but changed the character lineup significantly, making it far, far more than merely a palette swap. The last time Waid and Samnee revived an old character from total obscurity, we got the absolutely terrifying Spot Centipede and I can’t wait to see what happens with this newest revived villain. This book is nothing but potential, and it’s going to be an incredible ride seeing it fulfilled. In all I would rate this issue a 7.5/10 that’s all for today and as always keep on marveling.

Daredevil #1

daredevil #1

Written by: Make Waid

Art by: Chris Samnee

Cover by: Chris Samnee

Released: March 19, 2014

The story opens, not with Matt acting as a lawyer, but more as a detective, in a way. This is a fascinating aspect of Daredevil’s powers. He would be a brilliant crime scene investigator. We’ve caught the occasional glimpse of Matt using his powers to find clues but we get a fun scene seeing how Matt can fully analyze all the clues.

What do we get for his first case back in San Francisco? It starts off as a simple one but Waid quickly turns the tables on Daredevil and the readers. There ends up being more to it than was thought and seeing Daredevil quick on his feet is pretty cool. Of course he gets some help as well. This is a little odd at first but it’s a sign of maturity on Matt’s part, being willing and able to ask for help rather than try to do it all completely on his own.

This first issue of Daredevil was pretty good. It was easy for new readers to jump in and for established readers to join In as well. The artwork was also pretty good so in all I would rate this issue a 8/10 that’s all for this issue and as always keep on marveling.

Daredevil gets a season 2 coming in 2016

that’s right guys Daredevil will be getting a season 2 coming out next year on Netflix!! I knew with out a doubt this was going to happen. The series was just way to good to not make a season 2.

Marvel and Netflix are proud to announce that “Marvel’s Daredevil” will receive a second season, available only on the streaming service in 2016!

With the first season of “Marvel’s Daredevil” proving a smash success with both audiences and critics, Netflix and Marvel will continue to create further adventures of the Man Without Fear! Doug Petrie (“Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” “American Horror Story”) and Marco Ramirez (“Sons of Anarchy”), who worked closely with Executive Producers Steven S. DeKnight and Drew Goddard during the first season, will serve as showrunners for Season 2. Petrie, Ramirez, Goddard (“Cabin in the Woods”), and Jeph Loeb (“Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.”) will serve as Executive Producers of Season 2.

“While previous commitments unfortunately prevent me from continuing on with Daredevil into its second season,” DeKnight explains, “I could not be happier that Doug Petrie and Marco Ramirez are carrying the torch. They were invaluable collaborators during our first season, and I for one can’t wait to see what they do with the show moving forward.”

“Marvel’s Daredevil” is produced by Marvel Television in association with ABC Studios for Netflix.

“Marvel’s A.K.A. Jessica Jones” comes only to Netflix later this year and “Marvel’s Luke Cage” premieres on the streaming service in 2016. Future series exclusively debuting on Netflix include “Marvel’s Iron Fist” and “Marvel’s Defenders,” a mini-series event that reimagines a team of self-sacrificing, heroic characters.

Blinded as a young boy but imbued with extraordinary senses, Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) fights against injustice by day as a lawyer, and by night as the Super Hero “Daredevil” in modern day Hell’s Kitchen, New York City. “Marvel’s Daredevil” stars Charlie Cox, Rosario Dawson, Vincent D’Onofrio, Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson, Scott Glenn, Bob Gunton, Toby Leonard Moore, Vondie Curtis Hall, Ayelet Zurer.

Up Coming TV Shows for Marvel

We all know that Daredevil will be hitting Netflix but what’s after that?
We’ll put on your seat belts because this is going to be a wild one. Depending on the reviews after the first season of Daredevil Netflix will see about making season 2 but that all depends if people like it and maybe they will even make a movie out of it But that’s a long time from now. Daredevil will be followed by Marvel’s A.K.A Jessica Jones
