Secret Wars 2099 #1

Secret Wars 2099 #1

Written by: Peter David

Art by: Will Sliney

Cover by: Dave Rapoza

Released: May 27, 2015

The same creative team bringing SPIDER-MAN 2099 out every month now tackles the much larger, yet somehow smaller, Battleworld sector that seems stuck in the future. Right off the bat Peter David does a fantastic job of establishing that, while this is the ultra-neon world of 2099 ripped straight from comics of the 90s, there’s been plenty of progress made in terms of characters and storytelling. David introduces the team rapid-fire, giving at least a decent idea of who everyone is and what their role is, as well as showcasing their unique personalities and powers, but Hercules and Captain America get most of the focus of this issue with Black Widow clocking in at a close second, and right off the bat, David masterfully sets up conflicts both internally and externally involving all of them. This is a far, far more character driven book than might have been expected, and that’s a very good thing as it’s easily one of Peter David’s strongest suits.

Will Sliney provides the linework, making Nueva York look as sleek and shiny as ever with some very subtle, very thin actual lines. But making the character outlines thin helps reinforce the notion that everything in this land is slick and fluid, a city that never stands still for a second and a future that never closes its eyes. The colors, from the duo of Antonio Fabela and Andres Mossa help with that feeling immensely, making everything neon and bright, while not overwhelming the sense too much or ever having it be too chaotic and discordant. In all I would rate this issue a 7/10 that’s all for this issue and as always keep on marveling.

Released: April 22, 2015

This issue was just spectacular. In this issue we have the avengers team up Ince again to defeat a commen for. Yes you guessed it Hydra. Black Wido followed some hydra agents and found out that they have been making weapons from the chatari aliens. Hawkeye on the other hand is struggling to come up with a reason to why he should be part of the avengers, after all he doesn’t have powers like the rest of them. In the end he he does find out the reason.

This issue was put together very well. I loved this issue a lot and the artwork is just phenomenal, I really digged it. In this issue we also se a deferent costum for hawkeye I actually liked it, I didn’t mind it at all. What I really liked about this issue is that we get to see some commen conflicts that the heroes face and when I say “commen” I mean problems that a regular civilian would have I thought that was pretty neat. In all I would rate this issue a 8.5/10 that’s all for this issue  and as always keep on marveling.

All New Hawkeye #2

All New Hawkeye #2

Released: April 8, 2015

Let me get started by saying this issue was amazing!!!!! This issue picks up right after issue one. Clint and Kate are trying to steal some weapons that the bad guys have we don’t know what it is but we know it was some kind of an experiment on some little kids. The 3 little kids (Two boys and one girl) have some kind of weird powers and they look like Frankenstein zombies. Both clint and Kaye decided to take them home.

This issue was amazing. One of the things I liked is that we keep Geting to see Clints past history and how there step dad I believe hits them so they run away but every thing that we see in the past relates to what’s happining in his life right now. That one of the reasons I liked the previous series of hawkeye because we got to see his past and on top of that we could relate to him and think about how some of the stuff happens to him happens to us too. The art work is amazing too it’s just like the previous series although I do like the previous series a little bit better. One of the pictures that really stood out is when Clints dad is getting his ass handing to him by the circus leader but in all I would rate this issue a 9/10 that’s all for this issue and as always keep on marveling.

It was intresting to see thier perspective and what happend. The book was really interesting and had tons of action and tons of love going on. Nothing big realy happend so I’m going to rap it up. I would rate this book a 8/10 that’s all for this issue and as always keep on marveling!

This issue was a very strong start to the new series it gave us an introduction of how big the villains will be in this series and establishing the series. Hickman and Spencer are always making good issue so I’m very excited to keep on reading and I know for a fact that this Series will be good. The art work done by Caselli is amazing he makes everything look just so great and real. He never lets us down. Released: March 11, 2015

The Guardians slam there way into the world of the Avengers and vise versa. Nebula has tooken Gamora to Kindun. Kindun is seeking revenge because long ago Gamora tried to take over Kinduns planet but she doesn’t remember. The Guardians and the Avengers must team up as one to save Gamora! I seriously can’t wait for the next issue to come out!! There is nothing to hate about this i see and I mean absolutely nothing. I like the way  Arthur draws Rocket Raccoon it’s very detailed and same goes for all the other characters. I think my favorite part of this issue is when they teleport to the Kinduns planet it’s pretty epic!

this issue is packed with humor and thrill! In this issue we also see some flash backs about Gamora as a child, I thought that was pretty neat. I would rate this book a 8.2/10 that’s all for this issue and as always keep on marveling!

Guardians Team-Up #1

Guardians Team-Up #1

Released: March 4, 2015

This issue starts off with bringing thrill and suspense right into the first page. In the first shot we see the Guardians of the Galaxy being chased on earth by some unknown ship. After crash landing the Avengers come and  try to fight the space ship. The unknown space ship also crashes and a lot of Chitauri come out and fight. The ship shoots out something really big nocking out everyone. After this Nebula comes out of the ship. I thought this book was defenetly a good read especially if you like the Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy. This had some humor and intense action through out the whole way. The art work was good although it could of been better. With this being said I would rate this book a 9/10 that’s all for this issue and as always keep on marveling.

Age Of Ultron #5

Age Of Ultron #5

Written by: Brian Micheal Bendis

Art by: Bryan Hitch

Released: April 10, 2013

The super heroes that are still alive from the Ultron apocalypse head to savage land for some protection. When they get there they find out that Fury is there too. They make some plans to go and attack Ultron but they don know for sure if he’s at the location they think he’s in. Half the team goes and the other half stays. On the other hand Wolverine has some plans of his own. He wants to go back in time and kill Hank Pym so then he never creates Ultron. Will this choice be successful? This choice will change the entire marvel universe. I thought this issue was really good! It was easy to understand and the art work is just amazing. I would rate this issue a 8.2/10. Thats it for this issue and as always keep on marveling!

Infinity: Captain Marvel #15

Captain Marvel #15

Written by: Kelly Sue DeConnick and Jen Van Meter

Inker: Drew Geraci

Color Artist: Andy Troy

This issue is Captain marvels perspective of the sneak attack they were going to do on the builders. The battle takes place in space near a blackhole, literally a blackhole. There really isn’t anything new in this issue. It’s just the same battle from her eyes although at the very end she makes all the super heroes get into pods so then the Kree can pick them up and save them but to do this she has to make an explosion. When the explosion happens she goes flying and when she wakes up you see super charged up Captain Marvel. I thought that was pretty cool. She does look pretty awesome In the last page. The art work I thought was phenomenal. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes Captain Marvel and anyone who likes to see battles in space. In all I would rate this book a 7.5/10 That’s all for this issue and as always keep on marveling.

All New Hawkeye #1

For a book with just “HAWKEYE” in the title, we do have other characters that have gone by that name. Along with Clint Barton, we also have the (thankful) return of Kate Bishop. We get some beautiful flashback scenes with Clint’s brother, Barney, as well. In some ways it’s like we’re getting two books in one. The action in the present with Clint and Kate gives us some big fun action as they go up against a horde of HYDRAagents. Lemire has perfectly captured their voices and characteristics while also making it his storytelling. It’s not just simple fun since they’re in a pretty dangerous situation and Clint’s known for getting in over his head.

With the book opening with the flashback part, we get to see more on the relationship between Clint and Barney. As you may be aware, they did not have the best childhood. Despite Ramón Pérez handling the art for the entire issue, we have colors by Pérez and Ian Herring. There’s obviously a noticeable difference but both parts look fantastic. I’ve mentioned before how changes in art in a single issue usually causes a distraction but it’s a welcomed difference here between the past and the present. The art work was pretty good but not as good as the previous series. I don’t like the artwork when the flash backs happend. It just isn’t my style I guess,But in all I give it a solid 7/10. We are still waiting for hawkeye 22 and that’s the last issue of that series. So stay tuned and as always keep on marveling!
