Indestructible Hulk #1

indestructible Hulk #1

Written by: Mark Waid

Art by: Leinil Francis Yu

Released: November 21, 2012

This first issue was a very promising issue! Waid more or less frames this issue from Maria Hill’s point-of-view, as she finds herself in an Alabama diner trying to track down Banner. The opening scene is a tense but delightful dialogue between the two characters that ultimately lays out the foundation of this series in front of you. Waid excels in making moments that are both funny and tense. For instance, a moment in which a patron bumps into Banner is followed by an extreme close up of a ticking clock, a device that Waid uses throughout this opening scene. However, the panel that follows is a punchline that will sell you on Banner’s newfound epiphany. Although there is a lot of talking betwen Maria Hill and Banner we do get to see the Hulk smash the crap out of things! And the art work is just phenomenal when you see the Hulk. There are scenes when it gets blured but we never loose the action. We also get introduced to just how Banner will be helping S.H.I.E.L.D. “I’ll be lucky if my tombstone doesn’t simply say ‘Hulk Smash'” best qoute in the book. With this being said I would rate this book a 9/10 I highly recommend this book to any Hulk fans and as always keep on marveling!!
